Just like Linux and GNU

its proprietary just like chrome
shove your "fuss" up your ass, the 'free' in foss stands for free beer, not free software
freedom is incompatible with open sores garbage
besides, brave includes a ton of proprietary blobs
lunix is 'fuss' too, aka proprietary
40% of the stock linux kernel is just proprietary blobs

firmware isn't part of the kernel.

then why the fuck is it compiled into the kernel?

File: 1695759185322.png (6.95 MB, 2701x1419, ClipboardImage.png)ImgOps

1) CONFIG_FIRMWARE_IN_KERNEL is deprecated starting in Kernel 4.18.
2) Typically firmware is loaded from /lib/firmware/
3) It isn't executed by the kernel. Firmware is not the same thing as a driver. Firmware is the software executed by an external device. For example, a Video Card or a NIC.

Take a look at this early SCSI/Floppy controller, an Adaptec AHA-1542B. You will notice that it has an Intel 8085 CPU on it. There are two ROM chips. The one on the right is the Disk BIOS that implements INT 13H and the one on the left is the Firmware for the 8085. It is labeled "MCODE FC8A." MCODE (short for Microcode) is a common (mis)nomer for firmware (it typically means a ROM used to implement a state machine or a decoder, like it does on CISC CPUs) The GM76C28FW chip in the corner is 2KiB of SRAM for the 8085. The 8085 is a coprocessor that communicates with the host CPU and the SCSI hardware. All of these chips are now typically bundled into one ASIC that sits on an expansion card. But manufacturers are cheap and want to keep the BoM as low as possible so they want to use the DRAM they put on the chip as ROM. So they have a tiny ROM who's sole purpose is to load up firmware sent by the host CPU. This ROM is very small which saves money in production. It also means that the firmware is hotfixable unlike a Mask ROM. The other way of having hotfixable firmware is by putting a Flash chip on the board. Which could add $0.17-$2.00 to the BoM. So the reason binary blobs exist is because manufacturers are so cheap that they would rather use DRAM as program memory than spend another dollar to put a Flash chip on board.

My company has been using the same python 2 testbenches for like 8 years.

Name one time firmware has “broken.” This seems like a you issue cause by fucking up your computers BIOS with GNU Malware. Never had any issue with firmware “breaking”

it breaks every 2nd time i update anything
all the classes and oop bullshit in cpp make it slow
>GNU malware
like half of all proprietary BIOSes i have encountered are broken in some way, bugs in the config menu, bugs in the boot order, especially uefi "secure" boot bullshit and all that
>sure buddy just make a FAG32 partition and throw shit on it because JewEFI is too stupid to read MBR or something

>says there are bugs in the BIOS
>doesn't list a single bug in the BIOS but instead something to do with the Setup Utility or Boot Order
I thought you were going to mention a broken INT 13H or 15H or something. Many builds of SeaBIOS have a broken INT 10H

and SeaBIOS doesn't have a setup utility you have to recompile it to change options.

how the fuck are you even using that model m with a fagbook?

sunvoxGOD right there

You never heard of a PS2 to USB adapter? Must be a child if you don’t have at least one of them.

gay, imagine the latency lmao
also i dont have PS/2 adapters because my PS/2 keyboards work without any adapters

What? Because USB isn't driven by IRQ 1 (i8042prt)? Hate to break it to you but the operating system is going to add in far more latency than the USB stack could. And the SuperIO implementing i8042 is probably on your LPC bus. Also I don't play computer games so I don't care about latency.

>Pychads won
well atleast make it compile faster, until recently firefox required two fucking versions of python to compile, I would rather use the bloated bash than use python
>They're called overlays.
>YOU WILL LIVE knowing your repositories are just overlays and that WE have the official repositories
well their iceweasel-UXP browser seems intersting, I wanted to try it out but never actually cared to do so
>you are better off using FreeBSD because of ZFS
solaris has a much better ZFS implementation + you also get zones
Post too long. Click here to view the full text.

>>YOU WILL LIVE knowing your repositories are just overlays and that WE have the official repositories
Repos in Gentoo are called overlays, you can easily replace the main gentoo overlay with your own mirror or completely new overlay, also even with the main overlay you can easily rip out cuckware…

You have to pay Oracle for Solaris updates. I use SPARC hardware and not even I use Solaris. And don't say OpenIndiana.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Distrotube, is in fact, BBC/Distrotube, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, BBC plus Distrotube. Distrotube is not a real entity unto itself, but rather another sissy component of a fully functioning BBC gangbang made useful by the BBC cocks, cum utilities and vital system components comprising a full gangbang as defined by Israel. Many faggot 4chan users fap to a modified version of the BBC system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of BBC porn which is widely used today is often called “Distrotube”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically a BBC gay gangbang, developed by Mental Outlaw. There really is a Distrotube, and niggers are fucking it, but it is just a part of the gangbang white boys they use. Distrotube is the sissy white slut: the faggot in the system that allocates the cocks resources to the other holes that you cum into. The faggot is an essential part of a BBC gangbang, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete BBC gangbang. Distrotube is normally used in combination with the BBC gangbang system: the whole system is basically BBC with Distrotube added, or BBC/Distrotube. All the so-called “Distrotube” gangbang are really distributions of BBC/Distrotube.
